This one is Harry Knowles Jr. s/o Harry C. Knowles & Muriel Knowles Paul Harry Knowles 26 years old prominent young Shawnee twp. farmer died of infantile paralysis Saturday night about 9:50 o'clock in Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis after being stricken with the disease five days before. He had been hospitalized on Wednesday. Mr. Knowles was the son of Harry and the late Muriel VanArsdal Knowles and was born in Fountain County on 13 Nov 1924. The family including his mother who just died last June had been very active in agricultural activities. He was married on 8 Jun 1946 to Rosemary Martin who survives with two children, Carolyn Sue 3 and Kennth Harry 1 year old and the father. Large numbers of friend of the family throughout the county visited the Knowles home on Highway 41 seven miles north of Veedersburg, where the body rested on Monday and Tuesday. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at Union Christian Curch of which the deceased was a member. Rev. Phillip Trobaugh of Crawfordsville conducted the services. Roderick Noggle young son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Noggle of Sterling sang "God's tomorrow". Neighbors acted as pallbeareres and eighteen young girls were flower bearers. Burial took place in Union Cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge.
